Rio Brilhante is located in the municipality of Coromandel within Cerrdao Mineiro. The farm owes its name to the stream that crosses it.

Inacio Carlos Urban, the producer bought the farm in 1976 and is now training the second generation to succeed him.

The farm covers 3300 hectares. 1500 are dedicated to the production of 14 different varieties of coffee: Topázio, Catuaí 62, Catucaí 20/15, Grauna, Arara, Acaiá, Yellow Bourbon, Red Bourbon, Catuaí 144, Paraíso MG-2, IBC-12, Yellow Icatu, Obatã, Catuaí 99.

500 hectares are dedicated to the production of cotton, maize and beans and 1300 hectares are conserved as protected forest areas

The preservation of the environment has its place within the farm:

    - A protected forest area covers more than a third of the farm

    - Reforestation project around the water points of the farm

    - Farm certified by the Rain Forest Alliance

Quality: The farm is fully mechanized and the coffee is processed on site. The beans are patio-dried and harvested by the quality team. The coffees are then processed for export at Patos de Minas, a warehouse 50 km away.

  • TERROIR

Pantano is within the Cerrado region. The young coffee-producing region began production in the early 1960s and is now internationally recognized for its quality. Located in the state of Minas Gerais, in western Brazil, the Cerrado has however suffered from the increasingly significant usurpation of its name and reputation by neighboring regions.

In 2013, the producers obtained the Denomination of Origin (DO) "Cerrado Minerio". A sign of quality that certifies the authenticity of the coffee, proving that it is indeed from the region and has qualities specific to its terroir of origin.

Thus, consumers and roasters are guaranteed to taste Arabica coffee (blend variety with mainly Mundo Novo and Catuaí) produced in the region delimited by the certification, at an altitude between 800m and 1300m and that it has obtained at least 80 points following the SCAA punctuation during its tasting.
